Creation of a Graphic Charter (Logo)

Creation of a Graphic Charter (Logo)

Description

The creation of a graphic charter is the first step in a communication project. It is essential for giving an original, relevant and coherent image to a given topic.

After an interview during which are discussed the problems concerning the communication strategy, the work of a graphic designer is divided into three steps:

  • The research, during which is proposed a series of graphic researches. The work in the research phase are performed in a uncompleted way.
  • The development, during which is proposed a series of graphic variations around the path validated in the research phase.
  • The finalization settles the details and improvements of the chosen charterer by client.

The final charter comes in different formats so that the client may use it on all media.

Details

Some details about the graphic charter project process:
  • A communication strategy defines context, target, market positioning, and the lines of communication to consider for the development of a visual identity. Depending on the scope of the project, a complete copy strategy can be achieved.
  • The research phase proposes around three axes different design ideas without seeking a finalized result . These axes define a conceptual line. If the client is satisfied with none of the ideas proposed, two additional lines of research can be conducted.
  • After selecting an idea in the research phase, development will deepen it to a more complete result until satistifaction of the client. Generally, three ideas suffice. If the client is satisfied with none of the ideas proposed, a further two additional development of ideas can be made.
  • Finalization takes care of the final fixing of graphic details and checks the quality in different settings (size, color / black and white).
  • A set of files allowing the exploitation of the finalized charter on all supports is provided during delivery. They include: logo in vector format (eps), in image format in high, medium and low resolution (jpeg, tiff), color references and files for the fonts. Depending on the scope of the project, a document governing the rules of the graphic charter can be created.
  • The transfer of creation rights is charged separately for a symbolic amount at the end of the project.
